According to reports, the country’s first WeChat electronic ID card was launched in Nanning, Guangxi. The electronic ID card is a collaboration between the Nanning Municipal Public Security Bureau and Tencent. Based on Tencent Youtu's facial recognition technology, the two parties allow citizens to have an electronic ID card on WeChat.
